That’s a CAPEX vs OPEX discussion. Either you spend $3k upfront on a rig and over time amortise the cost and then run it “for free” (+ electricity). Or you don’t spend anything upfront and keep paying AWS per hour. What suits you better depends on your circumstances and your intentions.
