Guess what there are even simpler DBs out there and they also have their valid usecases. Maybe MySQL doesn't have all the PgSQL features but then PgSQL doesn't have all the Oracle or SQL Server features either and you could be just as sarcastic about that too. Apparently there's a huge demand for MySQL, otherwise AWS wouldn't invest in making it available on Aurora.
